The SRC organised some great activities for the Prep students to celebrate the end of their second term at school. The Preps are half way through their first year! The students enjoyed an obstacle course challenge, a musical statues dance off, the Gooey Blind Slime Find and a Trolls scavenger hunt!
Which activity was the most popular?
What other activity might you create for the Preps?
In response to our recent junior school survey we organised a number of party games for our younger school students. The children rotated through a number of traditional and entertaining activities.
Congratulations to the SRC who remained enthusiastic and focused as they led their activity over 36 times!
The follow party games were enjoyed by all:
- Pin the tail on the donkey
- Musical Chairs
- Capture the flag
- Steal the treasure
- Hit the deck
Well done SRC it was another successful event!
Which activity did you enjoy the most and why did you like it?
Have you very watched the Amazing Race on television?
Well we had our very own amazing race as an Easter activity here at school!!
Students worked in teams of 4 and had to complete challenging activities to receive a clue.
The five activities were
- Easter Bunny Dress Up
- Holy Week Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge
- Palm Sunday Dramatization
- Egg and Spoon Obstacle Course
- Pull the Egg out of the Sticky Goo
Once the teams had all five clues they assembled the words to create an Easter message, “Alleluia, Jesus is Risen, Alleluia. ”
After this they took a key and tried to open the prize box.
When the key failed to fit the lock the team ran back to the key table and tried another.
And what is in the prize box?
Easter eggs of course!
The SRC enjoyed organizing this special event.
What are your thoughts about The Great Easter Key Hunt?
Which activity was the best and why did you like it?
The Student Representative Council organised and ran four fantastic activities for our Year 4 students. We hoped to encourage some of our Year 4 students to join the SRC in 2015.
We had 2 lunchtime sessions with over 40 students participating at each session. The SRC designed the activities by looking at data from our SRC Survey. They realized that our students enjoyed competitions, art, sport, technology and cooking. They creatively addressed these needs by organizing 4 ten minute activities through which the Year 4 students rotated over a 40 minute period.
The activities were:
- A Group LEGO Building Challenge (Students were divided into 4 groups where they had to work as a team to make a robot, vehicle or building)
- Number Soccer (When your number was called you raced onto the field to score a goal)
- Lamington Delight (Students dipped their sponge cake into chocolate and rolled it in coconut)
- Art Competition (Students worked individually to create an innovative SRC Logo)
OK Year 4 students, it’s your turn to comment!
What activity did you like best and why did you enjoy it?
What could we have done differently to make it even better?
YOUR COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED!
